Wrestling With Yourself

Hello everyone, and welcome to this corner of the universe where we live life without definitive expectations—where we fish without bait. If you've landed, hatched, appeared, or awoken here for any reason, you’re exactly where you need to be. So follow along with me, let’s dive into the adventure of a lifetime where we learn to fish without bait and explore the realms of possibility.

The Journey So Far: In recent discussions, we have journeyed through a variety of themes. From delving deep down the rabbit hole to examining the reflections in windows and mirrors, and questioning what type of ball we are in the game of life, our discussions might seem thematically scattered at first glance. Yet, all these topics weave into a singular, meaningful thread.

Full-Impact Mindfulness: Today, I want to focus on a concept we’ve recently coined: full-impact mindfulness. If you're new here, let's clarify what this means. When you hear "full-impact mindfulness," what comes to mind?

It's about fully taking in your surroundings, the events, and everything that truly matters in your life. This brings us to a favorite quote by George Bernard Shaw, "Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life's about creating yourself." I love this perspective because it shifts the focus from seeking who we are to actively shaping who we become.

The Wrestling Connection: Interestingly, our discussions on mindfulness and self-creation have resonated with a variety of listeners, including those from the wrestling world—athletes and performers who embody the essence of our discussions. Wrestling, a blend of controlled chaos and staged performance, mirrors our concept of life’s inherent chaos and the order we attempt to impose upon it.

Wrestlers create and recreate their personas. The best characters are their authentic selves, turned up to maximum intensity. When a character gets stale, they recreate themselves. This is a powerful metaphor for anyone feeling stuck or stale in life.

The Philosophy of Life’s Absurdity: Reflecting further on the nature of life and chaos, I’m reminded of a quote by Henry Adams, "Chaos is the law of nature; order is the dream of man." How true this is in the wrestling ring, where despite any planned scripts, the unexpected often happens, demanding real-time reactions from the performers. Life, too, is similar. We plan, we prepare, but ultimately, we must react and adapt to the chaos that unfolds.

Call to Action for Full-Impact Mindfulness: So, what does full-impact mindfulness mean for us outside the wrestling ring? It’s about engaging fully with life, not just reacting but responding with intention. It's about not waiting for the right moment but creating it. Remember, if you're waiting for the perfect time to embrace mindfulness or make a change, it will never come. Today is your day.

Looking Ahead: We will continue to explore the absurdity of life, guided by thinkers like Albert Camus. We believe that acknowledging life's absurdity opens up endless possibilities and frees us to truly create our life’s narrative. Join us as we delve deeper into these ideas and discover the liberating power of full-impact mindfulness.

Until next time, remember to be good to yourself and be good to others. Namaste.
